Phoenix, Arizona A feast for the senses, this 220-acre resort, convention facility and water park is set amid a backdrop of gently rolling hills and majestic South Mountain vistas.
Overseen by tennis director Jim Ferguson and his team of USPTA-certified pros, the resort's Tennis Complex includes five hard courts, each lighted for evening play. A full roster of adult and teen programs includes private and small-group lessons, daily clinics, cardio-tennis sessions, and one-, two-, three- and five-day tennis schools. Also offered is computerized game and stroke analysis, match-making with local members, and a popular weekly "Smash and Dash" round robin.

Off the Court
The four-floor Phantom Horse Athletic Club contains an extensive array of cardio and weight-training equipment, and hosts more than 40 group fitness classes each week. It has four indoor racquetball courts, six swimming pools, a basketball court, indoor and outdoor whirlpools, and an on-site staff of sports-medicine physicians and nutritional counselors. Also offered is a broad menu of desert-inspired spa, beauty and massage treatments. The resort has 60 miles of biking, hiking and horseback-riding trails; an 18-hole golf course and practice green; and the six-acre Oasis Water Park.

An all-suite resort, Pointe South's 640 guest rooms each feature separate living rooms, oversized work areas with high-speed Internet access and unlimited local phone calls, and private patios or balconies. Of the property's six restaurants and bars, its signature is the California-Asian-influenced Latitude 30°. Other dining options included Aunt Chilada's for Mexican fare; Rustler's Rooste, which specializes in thick steaks and cowboy poetry; and the Phantom Horse Grill and Sports Bar.

Kids' Stuff Buckaroo Roundup and Cactus Kids Club programs provide supervised activities for children up to 12 years old. But the on-site Oasis Water Park serves up the resort's ultimate kid-oriented fun: Its highlights include three 200-foot waterslides, a lazy river for inner-tubing, and a massive wave pool.
