Tennis Channel Needs To Be More Attractive To Viewers!

Tennis channel is getting into the boredom, and the repeats are making it worse. I mean, you fellas don't get me wrong, the channel is a great resource to have us updated about what's happenning in the tennis world, and sections like one of Mr. Jensen traveling around the world showing us the most outstanding tennis destinations and its cultures, along with the briefs of Mr. Meyers,  Classic Tennis, and Signature Series but you guys have to stop the even more often repeats and add more sections to create a variety and diversity to the programming. To all Tennis Channel supporters, let's use this blog/post to help the people of Tennis Channel in creating and coming up with new ideas!!!!!

I agree completely.  As I said in a previous post I would like to have a regular tennis talk show.  It can be similar to the Mike and Mike Radio/Cable TV sports talk show.  Just get some knowledgeable but low-budget guys or gals to talk tennis, take calls from the public and do the occassional interview either in studio or over the phone.  More live tennis matches would also be nice but I don't agree with responders who just want tennis matches 24/7.  That also gets boring.  I like the specials like No Strings, Open Access, Center Court etc.. that offer insights into the personalities, constroversies, glamour and humor of the game.  More of those would be great.

Tennis Channel does so little original programming these days.  Are they struggling for money or the do the owners just don't put that much effort into marketing their product?  Is the French Open coverage just use up all their production budget?

    Normal 0

I have to agree as well.

I am relatively new to tennis, only watching a few Wimbledon matches here and there over the last few years. I was so excited about Wimbledon this year that it made me want to learn more about the sport. I learned about The Tennis Channel while looking up air times/dates for the US Open Series. I had no idea the channel existed.

It's been a couple of weeks now, and I think I've already watched everything you've had to show. If it weren’t for the US Open Series I would have no reason to watch the channel anymore.

I'm hoping that there is a lot of new programming to come.

First something has to be done about this site!  I have had to write posts 3 times now because the posts disappear into someplace known only to TTC.

I totally agree with what you guys have said so far and, that this thread is not for debates about bad grammer or spelling or just plain ugliness.

I cannot stand Murphy Jensen's world travelling to different parts of the world and yelling that I have to come and do all that stuff.  Well, I would be on the first plane if a company were paying for the airfair, accomodations at the best hotels, eating at the best restaurants and everything else that someone else is paying for.  By the way, if they really want to keep Murphy's Guide or whatever his show is  called, PLEASE give him a PILL!  He's way to hyper and it makes most of what he says down right stupid.

As for the commentators, they should get rid of the Brits and JMac Mouth, of course I can't forget Gimelslob and keep the rest.  Especially Tracey Austin.  She is always a lady and though she catches little nuances of the players.  I sure hope she doesn't leave TTC because I caught something being said about not working with another commentator anymore because she was leaving.

I would like for them to add another professional in their booths.  That person should be a USTS Official or Ex-Official who can talk about the whys and wherefores of the game and of the decisions.  Their reliance on JMacMouth to talk about the rules and what the Officials are 'always" doing wrong and how the Chair Officials make their decisions regarding a player or rule.  MacMouth knows nothing about the rules of tennis along with having no respect for Officials and he teaches young players to act and be as obnoxious as he is.

I liked the idea about a talk show because it would be a good platform for Officials to have their say.  The way it is now, Officials are being talked about and have no representative in that booth to teach them how wrong they (especially MacMouth) are.

Finally was able to have my say before this post when into no man's land.  LOL

OH yea, For those of us who play your on court with USPTA show is the best show you have, however we don't see enough of it. You should put it on for 2 hours every morning, Instead of following with Center Court, you showed the Fred Stolle interview 3 times in one week. Love the idea of a talk show or call in show. As far as your classic matches go lets see more from the 70's and 80's, I really don't consider a match from 2 years ago at the tennis channel open to be A classic.
