    American Tennis

American tennis is going by the wayside.  No more great players.  Why?  America is not willing to put money behind players who want to really play and like the game.  Gone are Sampras (who got free training), Agassi (who got a scholarship), Courier (whose parents were professors and could pay), Chang (whose father could pay) and now we wonder where are the good players.  America won't see them for a while since they are not willing to spend money on players who really like the game and have heart for the game and who really want to play.  Roddick really does not have any talent.  150 mph serve is nothing to gloat about because you must have a complete all-court game and know how to volley, and come to the net.

Why won't the US set up a screening camp like all the other sports and have a try-out.  In try-out you can see talent and talk to the players and get background checks and find out if they really want to play or just hit the ball.  It's time for US tennis to come into the 22nd century right now.  Good talent is out there, but you will never know it.  Money is what's needed like all the other countries are doing for their players.  For the US to be so smart is everything else, it is amazing they are so dumb in tennis.  Oh well, being a tennis fanatic, I'm really turned out by the US Tennis Federation and how they do thing.  I'm getting to the point of not watching and loving tennis anymore.  I'll miss the game unless the US wake up and do something positive.
