    Equal pay for less work

Why should the womens singles winner deserve equal pay at Wimbeldon for less work? If there is to be equal payout, then make the women win the same number of sets as men. Until that point, there is no equality...

Forcing best of five set matches in the women's game would degrade the quality of play even further. With the exception of Justine Henin, I doubt any woman player would be able to maintain or increase their level of play beyond three sets. Women are physically weaker then men... it's nature unless they're on roids.

Equal pay is fair because the amount of effort it takes a woman to play a best of three set match is possibly equal to the effort it takes a man to play a best of five set match. The only modification I would make would be to the number of games per set... increase from six game to eight game sets.

    Equal pay

The argument that women deserve equal pay based on the number of sets they play is ridiculous. And yes, most men are stronger than most women. So what? Does that diminished either's place in society. No. The difference between men and women does not mean that one or the other is worth more. Women can have babies. Does that make them more valuable? I don't think so. I think we are all equally valuable. Women have been devalued for too long. 5 sets? Why do you think many of the tournaments now only require men to play best of 3?? Because it's better for tennis. 3 out of 5 for everyone and this argument would indeed lose all credibility. And by the way, that argument has been around for about 40 years--ever since women decided they were going to play in tournaments where they were not welcome. I don't suppose you remember Billie Jean King ....

It is ridiculous to expect WTA to play 5 sets anywhere. These 2nd class athletes are simply not capable of standing up to the test. Equal pay is based on the entertainment value not on athletic prowess or skill.

Poor clown stephanie - she needs to old war-horse *** to defend her inarticulate but of-so-sensitive feelings. It's well known that the best women in the world not only fails in stamina to play a 5 set match but could only compete with about the 100th male, Womens' tennis is entertainment. Only through the rose-colored glasses of sexist bias is it elevated to the level of "sport" comparable to that of mens' tennis.
