    Pacific Life Open - WTA

The players are in Indian Wells Ca. for this 2 week tournament that features both ATP and WTA. Not playing for the ladies are: Henin, Clijsters or the Williams sisters. Really not too many threats for Sharapova IMO as Petrova, Kutznetsova or Hingis cannot beat Maria. Last I heard, Serena had the flu and has not played since the Aust. Open which is not that surprising.

I am sure there will be some good match ups but not all the top players will be there, I believe ESPN has majority of the coverage with some from the TC.

I live in Arcadia California which is approximately 120 miles from Indian Wells in

good traffic like early in the morning or late in the day you could get there in 3

hours.  I hate having it at Indian Wells because you really need to spend the night

because if you watch day and night matches then try to get home in one piece

forget it.  Gas is expensive and good seats are expensive and the hotels are

expensive and how about the food?  The stadium is huge and you can really see

the play better on television.  I wanted to go but the costs for me and my husband

is to expensive.  Why not have it in downtown Los Angeles at the Staple Center

where all the freeways meet?  I don't know why the commentators keep on saying

what a success it is when I can see on television that the seats are empty.  Good

for the commentators they don't have to buy tickets!  It is really a pity because all

the great players are there and the tennis lovers don't have a chance to see them.

For all you that live outside of Los Angeles believe me the freeways are so crowded

there is no way you could get there after working all day.  I guess they think we are

all retired.  Gee whiz I am retired but too expensive for me! Sorry, Roger but I really

wanted to see you, maybe in June at Wimbledon!

I am glad I didn't go, Roger getting beat in an hour. Wow, he played better tennis

at Madison Square Gardens.  Doesn't he know that we have to buy a ticket and

pay to park, etc.  Some of these players are beginning to act like Prima Donas.

I think they are reading their own press.  Was he sick or what, maybe Justin

can shut up for one minute and tell us what was really going on.  All of a sudden

Mardy Fish walks on water, I don't think so. Why don't they make it a five setter?

Are the men so tired that can't play more then two sets.  And what was wrong

with Haas, he is always sick.  Check it out?  Andre Agassi seems to be the

only one that had the guts to train and get out and give the fans what they

deserve.  I NEVER saw Andre tank?  And one more thing why I am really on a roll,

thanks to the committee for changing the rule on time out for injuries. Poor Nadal

a blister on his big toe wanting to take a medical time out when it was Joe's time

to serve for the set.  I hear Mary Pierce is coming back with her Dad that should

    be one to watch.
