Definately agree with you that Justin has got to go. What I do not understand about the Tennis Channel is why just because they are now getting in on the action coverage of the Slams do they have to ignore their regular commentators and bring in so called, BIG NAME COMMENTATORS? As you mentioned,Goodall, Adler Koenig Shiras, etc. are very good as they seldom talk while points are in play which is what I like. McEnroe and Martina are non stop talking never letting you enjoy the points in play. TC has no confidence in their regulars but surely they could handle it with no problem, I have e mailed TC on this but they could care less what viewers want as they feel their ratings will be higher with bigger names. Also, when Ted Robinson is there he just gives one stat. after another while points are going on and then he and John go into these chat sessions and forget their purpose at hand. Give me a break.

I think Justin's comments were over-the-top and out of line: but I also enjoy the matches he is a part of calling the most.  Clearly he has a personal issue with Anna K. that must date back to when they were both on the tour.  Maybe he was the snubbed lower ranked player by her - the high wattage star (with a huge ego).  Who knows...

I think his candor and willingness to let us all in on the behind-the-scenes in tennis makes the tennis (and players) more interesting.  I feel sorry for him that as his career was taking off he has created this costly learning experience for himself.  I hope he gets a chance to stay around - I really like him.  And I hope to see those ads he shot the the USOpen series!!

so sorry I'm slow and late to the party, but what exactly did he say.

I have a problem with just about all the commentators today.  Mary Jo Fernandez is about the only opinion I respect.  The McEnroe's are so full of themselves their isn't much room for any valid points, Enberg gets things wrong a lot, he sometimes catches his self, but him and Patrick McEnroe got a crucial point wrong in Rafa's and Fed's match and they kept harping on it which annoyed me to no end.  As fantastic as Rafa and Fed's Wimby match was the commentators sometimes brought me down.  Cliff Drysdale and Pam Shriver are the worst of the horrid bunch.  How I feel about those two shouldn't be in print so I'll leave that one alone.  Chris Fowler and Jimmy Arias can't say something good without saying something else negative.  Chris Fowler talks out his @ssssssss, Jimmy's not as bad, but he can be annoying with that as well.  These people do more harm than good, I blame them a lot for the disinterest in tennis in America, who wants to watch a match and hear a bunch of old farts and cows talk down about the players.  Constructive is one thing, but the off base bull that they spew makes you want to turn the mess off.  Chris Fowler made a ignorant comment about Latino's regarding Rafa that I thought deserved some repremand.

what did Gimelstob say? I have never gotten Enberg. He makes the weirdest comments like "Serena coming to net." It's like ok i can see that. But these commentators really don't bother me that much. i don't really listen to them.

To catalogue the injuries done to televised tennis over the years by Enberg would require a supertanker of ink.  It is downright painful to listen to the guy call a single game.  It is truly one of the grand (shocking and sad) mysteries of the tennis fan universe as to why he has managed to stick around so long.
