Justin Gimelstob has learned his free flowing hate from his fellow commentators. He's just too stupid to understand how he is helping to ruin the reputation of womens sports. Gimelstob has learned from his overly judgmental co-commentators, with displays of almost bitter and sometimes weird or crazy commentary of *** Enberg, John McEnroe and Martina Navratalova. Both Gimelstob and *** Enberg should retire or be fired effectively immediately because their cantankerous gender tirades and discriminating sexist comments have been Controversial and have violated civil barriers women have fought to break. I believe ABC/CBS/Tennis Channel/Wimbledon/ESPN should offer these Gents a resignation, before the network is sued for these shocking comments. They are obvious liabilities.
Ususally, always these comments are downplayed but they cut deep in the many different culters of women who have fought tirelesy to be treated civil and with equal respect of rights. Why should Gimelstob be allowed to use public airways to spew his hurtful attacks on humans beings based on their gender. We all know that Ana Ivanavic is very beautiful but it gets a little creepy when *** Enberg and J. McEnroe start talking about her legs and other inappropriate comments during a match. Bottom line is that theses comments are sexist and offensive. The commentators to recognize for continued outstanding work is Jason Goodall, Doug Adler, Robbie Koenig, Daren Cahill, Patrick McEnroe and Lief Shiras. The worst of them all is Martina Navratalova, she talks more about herself and when she played than anyone else, and she sometimes curses like a sailor on National TV, I'm surprised she hasn't already been released. Malcolm
I totally agree with your post---Justin GimelSNOB - must be released. I can’t believe that that JERK would have the nerve to voice his Idiotic Derogatory personal opinions to the public. Remarks like those must be the result of a severe inferiority complex, and should remain in that inferior mind. Regarding the specific comment about Anna Kournikova-----She is a GREAT tennis player and an extremely BEAUTIFUL Woman, and as part of the public----- that’s all I need to know. Those are her jobs and she does them both very well. Go Anna!!! If someone employs Justin or allows him to play that WTT match on July 23, It would appear that they must be as ignorant as he is.

Well said. The actions of Gimblestob are not only disrespectful and unprofessional, but also unjustifiable. He should be praising Anna Kournikova for accomplishing tennis results he HE HIMSELF NEVER ACHIEVED. Kournikova whom reached #8 in the world, manage to make the finals of Miami (dubbed the 5th slam) and she reached the semis at Wimbledon and earned over a million more prize money than Gimblestob. Not to mention retiring at 22 way before her prime (due to injuries) after going pro at a redicously young and wicked talented age of only 15. Gimblestob 's career in singles is unknown, uncertain and easily forgotten. There was nothing non-annoying or special to remember involving competitiveness other than doubles play when he needed help to win. Gimblestob is out of his league in so many ways. The unfortunate reality of it all is that because of the decreasing popularity in womens tennis (to some extent), Gimblestob has no one to answer to. The networks are desperate for American Commentators. So his comments of this magnitude are not even seriously investigated. The suspension issued was a joke at an attempt to withstand some continued interest in Team Tennis were Gimblestob's gets about 7 minutes of jaded fame. I think this whole matter is a disgrace for Not only Women but all Professional Sports and reflects the tolerated discrimination that is continued by subpar commentators at best. Malcolm
Malcolm, you are abosolutely correct. JG is a disgrace and should be let go. Shame on Tennis Channel!
wow, I thought it was only me that thought Enberg should be put to sleep. He makes stupid comments constantly. I am sick of him talking about 'fashion' and how lovely Maria is blah blah blah. What has looks got to do with tennis --- why are sports commentators commenting on this? And I am sick of his personal opinions about the length of Rafa's hair, pants, pants tugging, and other derogatory comments. I switched over to listen to BBC commentary on all of Rafa's matches AND NO ONE COMMENTED ON THESE THINGS. He and Gimbelsnob should be retired from public audio and video.
Gimelstob must be fired. His face is disgrace to tennis channel. I cannot imagin how anybody can keep this kind of idiot on the job? Maybe his uncle is friend with Tennis channel CEO? This will explain this idiot(Gimelstob) face on TV in the first place.
SEND CLOWN TO THE CIRCUS, WHERE HE BELONGS.
ALEX
The Tennis Channel should be ashamed of itself. Bigotry in any form should not be tolerated, period.
Jorge,
In defense of non-discriminatory supporters of Mens & Womens Professional Sports and various broadcast airways in relation to ones profession or persona. FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS VERY CLEAR. The word you use "ignorant", which is defined as "lack of knowledge or simply unaware". This is exactly what got Gimblestob in hot water in the first place. You (Jorge Lobo) and many others who themselves reflect legitimate ignorance as to what exactly constitutes Freedom of Speech in the Bill of Rights, which states there are certian protections (exceptions) when using "Free Speech" in the matter of Public Critisim. The Amendment protects and reflects restrictions on hate, or the use of untruths to harm the reputation of others that would be (slander/defamation)! You may want to research the proper way to exercise "Free Speech" in America. Or, sadly, your liable to end up like Justin Gimblestob under a rock in a uncertain location. Malcolm
The only thing you post on here "generally" is controversy, ignorance and hate. The majority of your comments reflect that. Which is not shocking in reference to you being supportive of Gimblestobs discriminative "opinions" (as you put it). Like so many people who make dumb comments, when exposed, you don't know when to stop.
Next topic?
Absolutely spot on. I posted another thread about this not knowing you folks are already talking about it.
The guy is full of inferiority complex. And a nut case. I have never heard a real man spew comment like that - I'd hit her so hard she'll be wincing in pain. I mean come on.
Tennis channel and all other network as well as ATP should not employ this lunatic. He is a disgrace. Surely these networks could find people who can actually talk about tennis and not try to draw attention to themselves.
the major point of this post is to make clear the message that the Tennis Channel relays to the public as to their operations. First, by hiring unqualified people they are showing the biggest reflection of themselves. You know that old saying "tell me who your with, and I'll tell you who you are" this is the perfect example. Maybe the executives who think they run a company pretty good aren't as clever as they think they are. If they hired him in the first place the apple probably doesn't fall far from the tree. Secondly, Now they send the best message of all by saying your mistakes are justified if you "DONATE MONEY". I think it's a good example to the people that sh*t everythings ok as long as you pay the proper people. Sure make derrogatory comments, it doesn't matter as long as you have enough cash to fork it over. Lastly, if you notice how much more men's coverage they provide then women's. Certainly the opinions are not just reflected by Gimelstob but by the entire Tennis Channel Network. If tennis is to start gaining respect they must take a stand when people act in this manner.
