    Commentators

Just finished watching the Atrois finals. I came very close to just turning the volume off. I was very puzzled by the way the commentators were one sided in calling the match. Either they felt that Djokovic needed to comments and Nadal didn't, or that Nadal would win all along. I enjoy watching both players on the court, but please let me know when those commentators will be calling the match for TV, so I can put some music on while I watch.

Well, at least they're less chatty than the Americans.  I do miss Jason Goodall, Robbie Koenig and Doug Adler.  They are superb individually and as a group, and I look forward to their commentary as much as the matches.  Hurray back!

I actually heard one of the commentators state early in the first set that Djokovic had the match, to paraphrase, wrapped up.  So to say they were onesided, I can agree, but it was circumstantial and only regarding the player that was dominating at certain times during the match.

I would also agree that the commentators need to be more objective in their analyses and provide less opinion on the outcome.  Some of their comments were out of synch with what was going on on the court.  For instance, talking about this being a prelude to Wimbledon, like Federer doesn't even have a chance.  How absurd is that?  I mean, we're not even sure yet if Nadal and Djokovic will be on the same side of the draw.

I spent most of the French Open with my remote in my hand actually pushing the mute button immmediately after each point!  Martina N talked non-stop between every point and during many others.  I could feel her thinking "hurry up and play so I can talk!'  I am sure that Martina has knowledge that we can appreciate, but I could not benefit from anything she said after awhile.  I could not stand to hear her voice!                           Justin G.  is right on Martina's heels!  He's quite entertaining until he loses control and just talks talks talks!!                                                                                                  I almost cried when I heard they would be on air for Wimbledon!!!  Please have them use a little discipline.  I'm not in front of my TV to hear them talk!

I quite agree - and John McEnroe is even worse!  The Brits who did the matches last week (John LLoyd, etc.) were much, much better.  I, too, muted a lot of the action.  The women's match this week, I don't know who the commentator is, but she also talks too much.  I wonder if TTC pays them by the word?  They should remember we really don't care about their glory years anymore. Silence can be golden!
