WHo ever came up with the idea that women should get equal pay for majors and grad slams like the men is one complete IDIOT
I work as a software engineer and I play very high level of tennis but I must say.. if a female counter part was getting paid the same amout of money annually that I get for doing the same work.. but working less hours.. I would be PISSED... so why do women think they can get equal pay..
women should have to do best of 5 sets just like the men.. then you can guage who is at true #1 ranked player in the womens tour.
Also American Tennis is so far behind.. I would go almost as far as saying that the ATP/USTA are a discriminating organization.
things need to change.
ATP also needs to have a True Seniors Tour for players who are over the age of 34 who want to continue to compete at the same high level as the Men do on the main tour.. but less money is also fine for that.. it's almost an age discrimination factor... US Tennis needs a major Identity Check..
