Enough with the British comentators ALREADY!

Not to be rude.. but enought already with the duel Brits... one is plenty... This endless " spot on"  "that was brilliant don't ya think" and  "this could be a real cracker" commentary is making my ears bleed.  It's beyond painful.  One cynical Brit is plenty.  It is not important which one you you remove, just remove one of them and insert an american.  Justin would be fine, Yes I said Justin K, granted he is green, but his pleasantry and enthusiasms would make for a nice contrast.  I'm Sorry if I offend any of the  British, but I mean "come on" at some point you have to learn how to speak english.   Smiles!

    Change the Commentators!

Could we PLEASE get commentators other than Konig and Jason Goodall.  I don't mind the fact that they're British but I am so tired of the same cliches over and over again.  "He'll be delighted."  "He has to find a way to stop the bleeding."  "mouth-watering match" and on and on.  I want the kind of play-by-play descriptions you get with Darren Cahill and John McEnroe.  (Even though McEnroe can be annoying his play-by-play is great.  Cahill's is better.)  Also, could Konig and Goodall be any less perceptive? Yesterday in the Hamburg final they observed that Nadal was "strangely subdued"  and didn't do any fist pumping. They observed, "Maybe he feels guilty about taking the time out?"  Good grief. Anyone who watches Nadal's matches knows that he doesn't do  fist pumping when he's playing people whom he respects. He almost never does it during a Federer match or when he's playing Moya.  He also doesn't do it after he's beaten someone easily, for example in Hamburg when he beat Murray badly, he just walkd over quietly and shook Murray's hand.  I'm hoping against hope that we get different commentators for the French.

Robbie Koenig is South African, not British.

Love Robby Konig and Jason Goodall! I watch alot of tennis. I can listen to their commentating all day long. I don't want to hear about politics, the exchange rate, life experiences from McEnroe and Navaritilova. Why don't they write another book for people who care about their life?

Have to disagree with you on this. Goodall & Koenig keep their commentary very brief and to the point, which allows the viewers to watch the tennis. Almost every comment they make is intelligent, whereas McEnroe has a serious case of verbal diarrhea (do he, Carillo and Navratilova get paid by the word? . . . you would think so!). I so enjoyed watching the Hamburg final when Goodall and Koenig were commentating. I was SO disappointed when I turned on TTC for the French open on Sunday and had to put up w/ McEnroe, with his endless drivel and irrelavent comments about players' favourite restaurants and his own past. He spent five minutes trying to decide how to pronounce Djokovic, who has obviously been a big name on the scene for over a year now - how can such an "expert" commentator not decide how to pronounce the #3 player in the world's name. And let's not forget how he puts down lesser players, calling them "journeymen" and almost making fun of their game - evertone watching would love to play like the "no-name" players who face the seeds in early rounds.

McEnroe has his own overused catch-phrases too . . . "oh - that'll pay dividends." And he's an expert at telling you exactly what you just saw, like Djokovic miss-hit an easy overhead . . . "he really butchered that overhead!" Wow - great observation McEnore - i hadn't noticed that! And "that's a really bad time to throw in a double-fault." oh-no kidding McEnroe - please let us know when a good time to do so would be?

I wish TTC would recognize how annoying its viewers find McEnroe's and Carillo's verbal diarrhea, and keep the likes of Koenig and Goodall on for Grand Slam coverage - they let you watch the tennis in peace, only adding intelligent commentary when necessary.

Well...I'm a TTC viewer and I DO NOT find McEnroe's commentating overdone or irritating at all. He throws in with interesting things that are funny, fresh, and honest. And this is a person who knows whereof he speaks. He's seen absolutely every side of tennis first-hand. He has added a much needed humor and locker room cred to the commentary. People forget that tennis is fun...it's not a chess match...and when McEnroe banters one feels they are privy to what circuit players would be saying to one another if they were in fact sitting around watching together.

I respectfully disagree with you and though I'm American, I think Koenig and Goodall are two of the best commentators in the sport and I do not discriminate against them based on their accents.  They are knowledgeable, intelligent, get to the point quickly, and do not have diarrhea of the mouth like alot of other commentators.  They realize that its about tennis, not them, and I think alot of other commentators could learn from their example.

I would have to disagree as well.  Koenig (sp.?)  and Goodall are two of the better commentators.  For one thing they don't talk too much during a point which in my opinion is very important.
