Serena finally figured out the formula to beating world No. 1, Justine Henin. Now they're head to head score is 7-6 with Williams leading. I was so excited to see Serena in top form. She deserves to win the title in Miami and I'm ready for the return of the Serena Slam. She will definitely have difficulty at Wimbledon though with Venus standing across the court. Venus is the grass court queen! Keep it up Serena!
I hope not to see the Williams sisters at Wibledon. Serena gives no one else any credit. She thinks the world is all about her. I am sick of them. They need to focus on the other new young players. Thank you.
Unfortunately since Venus is the defending champion she has to be at Wimbledon. Until there are players that can damper the skills of the Williams sisters they're not going anywhere. I think the only thing that can get rid of the power of the Williams' is retirement and I predict that won't be happening anytime soon...sorry.
The only things Serena is on top of is a buffet table, doughnuts, and Big Mac's.
It never ceases to amaze me how many caucasian fans the Williams sisters have, despite their obnoxiously arrogant behavior, that they claim is "cultural." Serena and her father are the most blatant racists, black power radicals that we have ever known. Calling Chris Evert a "white hacker who couln't hit the ball" is over the top, even for the Williams'. He is right though, the WTA is racist; BUT AGAINST WHITES. The WTA tour has catered to them for years. They received special ranking protection, they get preferred seeding and placements in draws, and the WTA tour even changed its logo to reflect a silouhette [sic] of Serena Williams. Their all over the media. Until recently, ESPN loves them so much that they only airs Williams/ matches. When the liberal announcers and writers are decry screaming and grunting and name Sharapova, Seles, and others, they are grossly remiss for not mentioning the sisters as well. Their always cheered at tourny sites, and are regulars at Arthur Ashe Day. For them to claim racism at every turn is dispicable, grossly negligable, and offensive.
He was also right about another point. There are many in the tennis industry who do not like the sisters for racial reasons. Those so called "cultural behaviorisms" that they display are offensive and arrogant. That "I'm big, I'm black, and I'm in your face" mentality they have doesn't fly with most americans, regardless of race.
They brought the bad press on themselves. They were the first to stare, glare, growl at opponents, raise their fingers and make their own line calls, grunt like lions, offer dead fish handshakes at the end of matches, and worst of all, they were the first, and only, to never give credit to their opponent. There is always some other reason they lost, it was never due to the opponent. For example: "it was all me today" "I played at 10 levels below my ability today" "nothing she had scared me or hurt me, I beat myself." Gee, and we wonder why so many people hate them????
People clap for the double faults of the sisters' opponents all the time. At one tourny where it was going on, Serena's opponent's fans started to retaliate and do it back to Serena. Serena had the gaul to complain to the umpire, and the unpire made an announcement for those fans to stop. Why didnt the umpire make that announcement to Serena's misbehaved miscreant fans?
Clearly, tennis will be far better off when they just shut their mouths, act like humans, and hopefully sooner than later, simply walk away.
I can't stand to watch the Williams sisters play anymore. They need to go away. They have turned out to be "not a class act". Nuff said.
It's good to know that there are far more fans of the Williams sisters than there are haters. Not just haters who snarl at their very presence, but those that bleed from their mouths unkind comments and completely disproven facts. The Williams' sisters have a dominant presence and their powerful all-around games back that up. These women have overcome such adversity and still hold their heads up and compete like no one else on the tennis court. They are role models, not only to little black girls who watch, but to all girls who one day hope to carry on the legacy of women's sports. These women lead the pack of the incredible American women athletes we have. It's time to give credit where credit is due, and the Williams sisters have earned that.
I totally agree!! I am so sick of the Williams sisters ego driven lack of sportsmanship. Neither ever gives an opponent any credit, every loss is because they are sick, injuried or someone elses fault. The commentators will never say a word because if anyone critizes them they claim it's racist.
I'm sick of everyone in tennis being so scared of them, they get special draws, despite the obvious, neither has been tested for steroid use and they have destroyed the serve and volley game that fans enjoy.

It is widely known that tennis is a "White" game and thus people like you do their best to keep Black players out. You posters are like them.

Racism started in the locker room when the Venus started player. The name calling and ignorance started there. The person who said something to them was Serena. She let them know that that was not something she would tolerate nor would her sister.
Then, Richard Williams started naming names and suddenly they were all BBFs. Richard Williams has been made out to be a bigot and a lier. And all because he had faith in his girls and wanted the very best for them. He was a lyer because he said to anyone who would listen that his girls would someday be number 1 & 2 in the world -- and he was called names that immediately got stuck on the sisters. When it happened, people called him things like great and wonderful for the predictions. He said things about his girls with pride and when they started to prove him right people like you started leaving him alone. Believe me , Blacks got sick of his mouth too. They have never cheated, incidents show otherwise. There was a #1 player who cheated Serena and was given a pass by Serena when Serena didn't cross that net and beat the heck out of her. Venus was cheated when a point she lost was given to her opponent and the associations would not give her a rematch because of it. These things were RUDE and you have the nerve to say they cheat. You are stupid.
The steroids garbage is really a joke that you decided to throw in because you had nothing else to say to end your post, you coward. The sisters practice hard and they train relentlessly when they are playing. That is not fat on Serena. It is solid muscle that she worked hard to get. Venus might be the smaller of the two, but she is solid muscle also because she has a trainer too. Why didn't you say that about Agassi. Remember that he was a flabby kid playing at tennis when he knew how to play the game. Then, he started doing small tournaments while he was working with his trainer (or taking steroids) to become stronger. Suddenly he had a serve and he proved more often that not that he was the best returner in the game. Steroids could have been at play there too. My goodness if I wanted to really bash Agassi, I would be the object of fights here but, I will always think that Mr. Agassi was and still is the best.
