    suggestions

    1)  More Womens Tennis

    2) LESS Murphy Jenson

    3) Chris Meyers is not very exciting, need someone who add more Zing and interest to the interviews

    4) The blue/green backdrop for Chris Meyers interviews looks so '80's, change the same old repetitive and dated backround

    4) More travel shows like the one with Mieke Buchan (less with Murphy)

    5) How about interviews and/ or stories about the Jr players, and more players in general, not just the top few

    Re: suggestions

Over the years I have been noticing that the common denominator among the top tennis players in the world is that they are all accomplshed soccer players and that includes MacEnroe,Gerulaitis and even Cconnors.Currently Federer as well as Nadal are very good soccer players and it is generally well known that this prevails among all top European,Argentine and others in the world.
What i would like to see is that the tennis channel devotes some time on bringing this out and ask these players as to the value of soccer and what it meant to them as well as even look into other sports, including basketball, since Steve Nash is a very accomplished soccer player.
I strongly believe that if American tennis is to reach these heights again, soccer is the secret weapon. I also know that Jim Courier as well as Agassi are great soccer players and Martina Navratalova.
Hey it is foot to eye to hand coordination.
Those feet are extremely important in tennis as in any other sport..

More women's tennis-definitely.Then,get rid of the "let".If a serve catches the net,so be it.Play it or lose the point. This will speed up the game.I think fashion in womenn's tennis is great. These are attractive, fit women.Let them dress accordingly.I think you will see the interest in women's tennis increase greatly.and,of course, equal prize money in every tournement.

I'm all for getting insight into the players beyond their performance on the court but, could someone please explain what is so compelling about the "bag check" feature?

I mean, everyone (amateurs included) has the same items in their bag: racquets, grip tape, sunscreen, phone, etc. What is so interesting about Ashley Harkleroad's power gel?

Attention Tennis Channel: Christmas is over. Time to dispense with Murphy Jensen's inane "Happy Holidays" featurettes and your ill-conceived "Lord of the Strings" promotion.

    Anybody home?

Christmas is not over. The holiday is over, but Christmastime does not end until January 6, the Epiphany, which is when I believe the 3 Wise Men arrived. Surely you must have heard the song The 12 Days of Christmas.

Watching The Australian Open i could not help but take notice to the many times references were made to these kids and their footwork, which by the way was indeed amazing and for me another testament to their soccer background. It seems that these Europeans are indeed in the process of taking over the tennis scene and that only because of that extensive soccer background they have.
Again I really hope that the tennis channel does a soccer special on tennis and make this a priority. If not we can and that includes Canada kiss any further success in tennis goodbye.

great ideas. and how about updating your programs. when i switched to direct tv i had to wait nearly a year to get tennis channel back only to find the same ancient programs about tatiana golovin, chela and moya being recycled. how about an update with federer now he's won 12 slams.
i agree that chris myers is a bit of a drone. we often complain about the lack of personality in the tennis players and then we somebody like him who doesn't bring out the personalities at all.
less murhpy would be great. his latest update with lindsay davenport is embarrassing. he's just kissing butt the whole time.

Your Tennis Channel web site needs to be changed. How about every month. I'm tired of looking at the same ol' people. How about some players on the Futures and Satellite circuit? Please change because I'm at the point of not going to this site ever again.

i've just been watching the federer/sampras 2001 wimbledon match. how about having all of your announcers and color people watch how a tennis match should be moderated. no air time filled with banal chatter (gimblestob), just letting the tennis speak for itself and making a comment when necessary.

it's basically tennis moderating 101-make it a requirement for these putzes you have doing it now.

    suggestions:

Stop showing "The Other Side: Lleyton Hewitt" - you broadcast these programs multiple times per day each and every day. I think it's safe to say that we've all seen each episode multiple times. It's time to move on. Hewitt is no longer a compelling (or even relevant) player. If you're simply looking for filler for your schedule (which you evidently are), I'd settle for bringing back "Bragging Rights," at least for a little while.

Move the instructional programs to later in the day or at least repeat them at other times. Your viewers are avid tennis players. We like to learn how to play this great game better. And not all of us have Tivo and therefore the opportunity to watch any program whenever we want. Again, filler...use it wisely.

Chris Meyers seems like a nice guy, and I realize that it's easy to tape "Center Court" from the Fox studios in NYC where he works and you have a deal to broadcast from but, honestly, it's painful to watch him try to interview a contemporary player as he apparently knows nothing about today's game. I would suggest trying Jon Wertheim or heck, even Bud Collins or Justin Gimelstob. At least they would be knowledgeable and entertaining.

Speaking of Gimelstob -- would someone please tell him that when you are speaking into a microphone THERE IS NO NEED TO SCREAM. I understand he is a rookie announcer and is passionate about the game but come on already...

As for Bud Collins, he is a treasure you need to utilize while you can. I've suggested this before, but you should send him down to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport (which is not far from where he lives outside Boston) and have him do features on the legends of the game. This would be compelling, informative and, most importantly for Tennis Channel, cheap to produce.Tennis players do care about more than what is in Ashley Harkleroad's bag.

If you are going to tell us that you have produced a show called "No Strings: Juan Ignacio Chela" you might want to actually broadcast it from time to time. I'm willing to bet that I have seen the promo for this at least one hundred times but somehow have never seen it aired. And I watch your channel all the time, obviously. Glad to know he's happy, though.

Oh, finally -- how about showing some professionals (and college players) actually playing tennis matches? This is a year-round game. You're backed by some very deep pockets. Dip into them. You're evidently hurting for advertisers. I bet if you showed some actual matches you'd bring in some. Just a thought.

P.S. - Murphy Jensen! You're absolutely wasting your money sending this clown and his production crew around the globe. I assure you if you were to allocate those monies toward showing people play tennis your investment therein would pay off in increased viewership. Right now you're paying a guy to drive viewers from your network.
