Dear Ivan:
I doubt that you'd remember me, but I was an outside attorney who serviced clients of Proserv. I represented you, John, Jimmy and Brad Gilbert, in a claim against a tournament promoter who never put on a tournament or at least that year he did not, and you guys were contracted to play, but that was some time ago. Time does fly by.
In any case, I believe that a "Grand Slam," is winning all four events in one year. That is not unlike the "Grand Slam" in Baseball, where a hitter hits a home run with the bases loaded, and scores four runs for the team. Not four singles, which drives in four runs. The same is true of Hockey. Where scoring three goals in one game, is considered a "Hat Trick" not three goals in two or three games. It is the total event not a series of events over a number of years. At least that is my opinion. You said on the Tennis Network that you thought winning all three in a career was a "Gand Slam," I just don't agree.
Best regards,
