Larry Meyers

Senior Vice President, Production and Executive Producer

Larry Meyers is senior vice president, production and executive producer of Tennis Channel, the first and only 24-hour cable television network devoted exclusively to tennis and all other racquet sports. In his dual role for the network, he serves as the primary force behind all of the channel's original programming, including its live tournament coverage; series such as Center Court with Chris Myers, No Strings, Open Access, Tennis Insiders and Match Makers; and documentaries on the game and the stars of the sport. His executive producer title also extends to his work as a hands-on line producer for the network's productions, as he guides producers, directors and announcers in the live, kinetic dynamics of sports television.

Meyers joined Tennis Channel in 2002 - during its pre-launch stage - from FOX Sports Net. There, he had been a Los Angeles-based coordinating producer, overseeing national and regional production for the network for three years, and covering such sports as tennis and Major League Baseball. Previously, Meyers was vice president and executive producer of the San Francisco-based FOX Sports Net Bay Area, a local outlet of FOX Sports Net. For that network, he supervised coverage of the Bay Area's prolific teams, such as the MLB's San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's, the NBA's Golden State Warriors, the NHL's San Jose Sharks, and even college action at Cal-Berkeley and Stanford. For his work, he received six local Emmy Awards for excellence in local sports events coverage as well as specials pertaining to the events.

His prior experience includes working as a freelance producer and director on professional sports packages for such high-profile teams as the L.A. Kings and Anaheim Angels, as well as ESPN's MLB coverage. He started his career in sports television in 1980 and, in 1985, began directing sports productions for Prime Ticket, one of the earliest regional sports broadcasting networks. Meyers was also part of the award-winning NBC production team for the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. Meyers lives in Los Angeles, is married and the father of two daughters.
